With balanced development in the university’s seven colleges, each college has developed its own characteristics: The College of Education boasts an excellent tradition. It sets a fine example for academia through placing outstanding alumni throughout the educational circles in Taiwan. The Department of Guidance and Counseling and the Department of Special Education are the first of their kind in the country. The college of Science stresses its dual focuses on science education and basic science research. With balanced emphases on teaching and basic research, the college has taken up a leading position in Taiwan’s science education. The College of Technology pursues a dual focus on vocational teaching and practical training, making it a pioneer in Taiwan’s technology and vocational education that blends theory with practice. The College of Arts is renowned for its programs in fine art, humanity, and foreign languages. Its graduates fill the need for fine art, humanity and language teachers at primary and secondary schools. The establishment of the college of engineering pioneered the university’s transformation from its root in teacher’s education. It pursues dual focuses on research innovation and collaboration between the industry and academia. It seeks to educate high-tech engineers in electrical／electronic engineering and information industries. The College of Management educates professionals that address the need for economic development and corporate management. It graduates have expanded their social network and established a stronghold throughout industry and business. The college of Social Science and Physical Education cultivates sports professionals and teachers; it also promotes civil education through the emphasis of public affairs and local governance. Through the three focuses of specialization, holistic education, and internationalization approach, the center for General Education is dedicated to educating professionals with keen and broad general knowledge.
本校繼96年起連續8年獲得3.22億元教卓獎勵佳績後，今年續獲教育部核定3仟萬元獎勵經費。在全校師生群策群力之下，教學成效卓著。顯示本校「師範為本‧教育人文拔尖、研發創新‧科技商管精進」的自我定位已展現實力，並成為國內外師生選校及學術交流的重要指標。 本校師培中心於103學年度獲教育部補助「師資培育之大學精緻特色發展計畫」，盼能加深形塑本校的師培課程，培養師資生專業能力和品格，促進教師教學專業發展，進而符應國家教育改革的優質師培課程，同時促進大學教授與中學教師的教學專業成長。 為迎接數位化學習時代，本校數位學習中心發展磨課師計畫，提升線上課程品質，樹立教師教學典範，實現全民教育的機會，進而發展臺灣數位學習產業。
NCUE has been rewarded NT$322 million in total by the Ministry of Education for the Teaching Excellence Project for eight straight years since 2007. In 2015, again, NCUE was rewarded NT$ 30 million for the Project. Through joint efforts of the faculty and students, NCUE has achieved outstanding performance in teaching. NCUE showcases its position and strength of “teaching orientation, top humane education, innovative research, and technological and managerial refinement”. NCUE’s performance has become the influential indicator for Taiwanese and foreign students and faculty to initiate academic exchange in the world. The Center for Teacher Education of NCUE has also received the fund from Minister of Education to develop refined characteristics of teaching education. With the investment of this subsidy, NCUE hopes this project will help improve the curriculum in teaching education, and develop trainees’ expertise and morality applied in teaching development. This objective responses to the Government’s policy of educational reforms and accelerates the progress of university professors and senior high school teachers.
To adapt to the e-learning era, the E-learning Center has also organized the MOOCs project to upgrade on-line teaching quality. It sets the good example of teaching and fulfills the idea of “Education for All”. This will further develop Taiwan e-learning industry.
NCUE’s central mission is to activate academic research and develop comprehensive planning. The objective is to encourage teachers to undertake extensive research and upgrade teaching. Through professional planning and innovative thinking, we popularize teachers’ teaching and research achievement. NCUE has also integrated the resources from teachers and other research organization such as Minister of Science and Technology, Minister of Education and so on to endeavor any possible projects. It is to build a quality research surroundings where the teachers can enjoy doing research and teaching without any concern and display the outstanding results as well.
挹注研究資源，成立研究群，發揮群體研究能量，提昇學術研究實力與應用能力，爭取產學合作計畫，將技術或專利技術移 轉或授權產業界，積極籌措財源。本校規劃產學合作教學（校外生產技術）課程，由學校安排學 生到產業界實習，學生可從職場中印證理論與實務的配合，學生也 可應用學校所學理論與技術，協助中小企業解決技術問題、創新或 研發產品、製程的自動化與改良。 專業教師也透過產學合作事業單位的配合，指導實習學生，增進 實務技能，並可結合合作企業之需求作專題研究。
With the investment of research resources and the establishment of research teams, NCUE will fully take the advantage of group capacity to further upgrade academic research potential and applicable abilities. NCUE has been endeavoring to pursue the collaboration with industrial circles and has mapped out the industry-academic oriented curriculum to offer students internship opportunities, thereby blending theories with practice. Students not only put theories into practice but also help solve the technical difficulties of enterprise in the field of innovation, R&D and the development of automatic production. Under the guidance of fully- experienced teachers, the interns’ practical abilities have been improved and they can even do case studies based on the needs of industrials.
