Taiwan’s peace index rise

The 2010 Global Peace Index released on June 8 showed an overall decline around the world last year, which may be related to the financial crisis extending from the end of 2008 into early 2009. Among the 149 nations surveyed, Taiwan rose to 35, two places above its 2009 rank of 37th. Mainland China, meanwhile, slipped from 74th to 80th place due to social turmoil and an increase in defense spending.

Japan ranked 3 in the world which is the highest one in Asia;Malaysia, 22; Singapore, 30; South Korea 43.

New Zealand has been the world's most peaceful country for second consecutive year; following by Iceland, 4th to10th were Australia, Norway, Ireland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Finland and Sweden.

The least peaceful country in the world right is Israel, following by Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Russia, Iraq ranked last.
