Q1.Why Elite Study In Taiwan (ESIT) Program Office?
A.ESIT works as the interface between the participating universities of Taiwan (the ESIT Consortium universities) and the talent cultivation projects in Vietnam (such as the Mekong 1000 Project and Vietnam Elite Study in Taiwan) and Singapore. We provide services to make sure the prospective students, the project/program offices, and the ESIT Consortium universities are best served.

Where is the ESIT Program Office?
A.
The ESIT Program Office is located at Chung Yuan Christian University in Chungli City, Taoyuan County of northern Taiwan. We are only 30 minutes away from the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE).
Q3.I am an individual student and I am not associated with any talent cultivation projects in Vietnam or Singapore, can I apply for a program through ESIT?
A.Yes, you may apply through the ESIT program office (http://www.sit.org.tw). We will process your application and interface for you with the ESIT universities.
Q4.I want to apply for a program of study, when should I start my application?
A.Most ESIT Consortium universities start their fall semester in September with an application deadlines around late March. Many universities do offer spring semester enrollment around February as well (application deadlines around November). Each university has its own deadline and we may assist with late application cases. Please contact us at info@cycu.edu.tw for any inquiry.
Q5.How do I apply for a program to study in Taiwan?
A.You may apply online through the Online Application System on the ESIT website (http://www.esit.org.tw) to the ESIT Consortium universities.
Q6.Are there scholarships available?
A.The ESIT Consortium universities provide many scholarship opportunities. The government of Taiwan also provides Taiwan Scholarship. Please contact us for more details.
Q7.What do I need to prepare to apply for a program?
A.You may submit your application through our Online Application System (http://www.esit.org.tw). A complete application package includes:
- ESIT application form (online)
- Academic transcripts
- Graduation diploma/certificate
- Resume
- Study plan
- Financial statement
- Other documents as required by the Consortium universities
Q8.How to apply for a Visa to enter Taiwan?
A.Please contact a Taiwan Consulate/Representative Office for Visa application. You will need a valid admittance letter, certified academic transcripts and graduate diploma/certificate. Q9.How much does it cost to study in Taiwan?
A.The tuition and living expenditures vary from program to program and university to university. The range for the total cost is estimated from 6,000 to 8,000 U.S. dollars annually.
Q10.Can I work in Taiwan?
A.When you are registered as a full-time student, you may qualify to work on-campus part-time. After graduation, you may stay in Taiwan for employment given the official regulations met. Taiwan is in need of a strong research and development workforce and employment prospective are very promising.
Q11.Both my wife and I have got admissions to the same university, but we have to stay in separate room as they do not provide room for married couple. Do I have other choice?
A.In Taiwan, universities offer dormitory but not apartment type of accommodation, and usually would not offer to married couple accommodation unless with special honor research fellowship. It would be more convenient to plan for off-campus housing.
Q12.I will arrive in Taiwan in September for Fall semester. Should I bring jackets, or purchase clothing in Taiwan?
A.You would need to bring some jackets for the fall and winter when it gets cold by East Asia/Southeast Asia standard. The winter temperature in Taiwan will be around 15-25 centigrade.
